Garden Tour

Our Extension Master Gardeners sponsor a variety of events throughout the year for area gardeners.  Though some events have been on hiatus due to COVID-19 limitations, we continue to endeavor to offer as many educational opportunities for gardeners as feasible. 

Design & Grow Gardening Workshop (March 5, 2022)

This workshop was held on Saturday, March 5th, 2022. It included topics of interest to beginning and experienced gardeners alike, and was conducted both in person and virtually via Zoom. Design & Grow is an annual event - check our event calendar often for information on all our gardening events. 

Fall Gardening Classes in partnership with the Wichita Public Library (August 2nd - September 1st)

Five free fall gardening classes are currently scheduled in partnership with the Wichita Public Library.  They are being offered both in person (limited socially distanced seating), or virtually via Zoom if preferred. FALL GARDENING CLASSES FLYER

Tools & Treasures AND Plant Sale (May 5-6-7, 2022)

This shopping extravaganza is a gardeners dream and includes new and gently used gardening tools, containers/planters, bird feeders/bird houses, and other miscellaneous items.  A wide variety of plants are also offered.  Check our events calendar in the spring for hours and more details. 

Spring Garden Fair (Saturday, May 7, 2022)

A new event, the Spring Garden Fair was held Saturday, May 7, 2022.  Several area garden clubs were on hand to provide information and offer plants for sale.  A cherry tomato plant giveaway was included, as well as a Silent Auction to benefit the Extension Education Foundation.  Check our event calendar for upcoming garden events.   

Garden Tour (June 3-4-5, 2022)

The Garden Tour typically features 6 to 8 local gardens each year. The gardens showcase a range of landscape and plant options that are suited to our area, and provide a great way to get ideas for your own yard. Check our event calendar for info on the annual Garden Tour. 

Pair Center Open House (August 6, 2022)

A public Open House at John C. Pair Horticultural Center, located at 1901 E. 95th St. S. in Haysville, is scheduled for Saturday, August 6, 2022.  The open house is designed for all ages of the community and will include tours, interactive booths, kid’s activities, tram rides and more. Come learn about the varieties of trees, shrubs, flowers, turfgrass, fruits, vegetables, and even industrial hemp -- that grow best in Kansas.  Admission is FREE.  More info here.
