Types of Free Services

The Pollution Prevention Institute operates the Kansas Small Business Environmental Assistance Proram (SBEAP).  This program was established as a result of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and our mission is to help smaller businesses (100 employees or less) assess their environmental compliance responsibilities (primarily air and waste) and identify pollution prevention (P2) opportunities.  A recent five-year report of Kansas SBEAP services can be found here.

Free, confidential assistance is provided by phone or at individual business facilities.  SBEAP specialists evaluate all operations to identify gaps in environmental compliance and make recommendations on improvements that can be made.  Businesses are not obligated in any way and compliance gaps are not reported to the regulatory agency.

In addition to on-site and hotline assistance (800-578-8898), website also provides the following services:

  • Workshops and webinars (click Events above to view upcoming and past events)
  • Publications, training, and tools (click on the drop-down menu under Resources above to see what's availale.  If you can't find what you need, please let us know.)
