FAQs
How many acres do I need for my livestock to graze?

There are many possible answers to this question.  It will vary on location, type of grass to be grazed, how long you plan to graze the pasture, and the pasture's grazing history.  The number, size, and type of livestock will also make a huge difference.  For a better idea, check out the Stocking Rate and Grazing Management publication from K-State, or contact us at the office.

What is pasture land renting for?

Every year K-State updates an average pasture rent on a county basis.  This can be found on our Pasture/Rangeland page.  This is a good representation, but what does an average pasture look like?  There needs to be consideration of several factors when considering a lease.  These considerations as well as other tips can also be found on our Pasture/Rangeland page.
