Gardening Practices
While most people focus on their plants, the key to healthy plants is to have healthy soil. It is also important to use careful watering practices to conserve our scarce water resources. Careful soil maintenance and good watering habits will prevent many of the common plant problems we experience in our gardens. When insects or diseases show up in the garden or landscape, it is important to use good cultural practices to keep plants healthy before resorting to pesticides. The other key to a healthy landscape is to put the right plant in the right place where it gets the water, sun, and soil it prefers.
