Spring Garden Fair Celebrates Blooms, Bees & Butterflies!

Thursday, Mar. 14, 2024

Butterfly and bee on flower

WICHITA — Celebrate spring and find inspiration to improve your garden at the 2024 Spring Garden Fair, hosted by the Sedgwick County Extension Master Gardeners. Join us for this free, family-friendly event on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The event will be open from 7:00am to 1:00pm, and will be held inside 4-H Hall of the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center at 7001 W. 21st Street North in Wichita (SE corner of 21st and Ridge Rd.). Admission is Free.

The Spring Garden Fair encompasses a variety of activities, tours, plant sales, and interactive booths that are sure to inspire everyone for the spring planting season. Visit our educational booths and learn about gardening techniques to conserve water, selecting plants to attract pollinators, and a new K-State app to identify the bees you attract to your garden. Browse the onsite Plant Sale and indulge your green thumb with a wide selection of perennials and houseplants for sale. Take guided tours of our grounds, including: Hosta & Shade Garden, Rose Garden, Arboretum trees, Demo Garden, and Compost area. Stop by the Hotline booth and discuss your gardening questions with a Sedgwick County Master Gardener, or visit with one of the area Garden Clubs in attendance.

Youth activities will also be available and will include: arts & crafts, interactive booths on bugs, a photo op booth, and make-and-take creations.

The Herb Society of South Central Kansas will be on hand again this year with tempting food items for sale for breakfast and brunch.

Save the date for Saturday, May 4th, and plan to attend this fun and educational come & go event. The first 500 visitors will receive free Zinnia plants to take home and support pollinators in your own garden. Bring cash or check for event purchases.
