Farm & Ranch Transition Conference coming to Wichita

WICHITA — The Farm and Ranch Transition Conferences aim to assist farmers and ranchers in developing a plan to transition their operations to the next generation. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with professionals who will be onsite to answer questions and provide guidance on creating a successful generational transition plan.
This years keynote speaker, Lance Woodbury, Principal and Family Business Consultant, will speak on family communication and working through conflict. Woodbury provides facilitation and mediation services to family-owned agriculture businesses and teaches Family Business Management at The Executive Program for Agriculture Producers at Texas A&M University. Local attorneys and accountants will also provide presentations on the importance of putting a plan in place. Additionally, attendees will receive an overview of the Farm Service Agency's Transition Incentives Program and the resources available through K-State Office of Farm and Ranch Transition.

AgKansitions provides farmers and ranchers with access to the Kansas LandLink Program, one-on-one consultations for transition planning, and resources to identify professionals in your area. The Office of Farm and Ranch Management is excited to have the CRP Transition Incentive Program as another tool for producers planning retirement and transitions.
