Exploring Pollination Through Creativity

Students will explore the world of pollination through creative stories. After a short video, they will work in groups to research types of pollinators and the flowers they prefer using provided media. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the concepts by writing and acting out their stories using costumes and flower props. Skits can be recorded or photographed for later use in the classroom. This lesson is presented by Sedgwick County Master Gardener volunteers.

Availability: 3 weeks advance notice is required to schedule this lesson. Requests for this lesson are scheduled on a first come, first served basis and depend on the availability of the Master Gardener volunteers.

  • Prior review of the definition of pollination
  • Technology to show the video link for the class
  • Tables arranged to divide the class into small groups
